Final Solution :)

    This is my finished piece for the Fantasy Project #1. Since the last post, I have added in a tile background, and some shadows to cement the images together. I melded the two layers so that the orcas look like they are swimming in the water. I really like the look of the harsh shadows and lighting on the sink - I think they give the overall picture more drama. I also like the way the tile floor contrasts the foreground. Overall, I am really proud of how this piece came out and how I came along with Adobe Illustrator since my first solution to the project.

    Okay I want to say you have improved so much from our first in class critique. This looks so good with the different values and the attention to shadow that the sick creates. Great job! I also am really enjoying a bird's eye view of the sink.

Progress 1 - Narrative

  This is my first progress shots at the Narrative project. I have just been having fun with my concept which is very fantastical. The story is about a scuba diver on another planet that finds pirate ducks fighting over treasure in the bottom of the pool. I really hope I am understanding this project and doing it right, because I am actually really liking how this is coming out. It is still a little rough in some places, but it moves from the top image to the bottom. My main problem right now is that the first image is a lot more landscape oriented, while the bottom is the opposite, and I would like for them to be both the same orientation.

Destroy the Icon Image

  This is the iconic image I will be using for the Destroy the Icon Project. It is an image of surrealist artist, Salvador Dali. I think there are many directions I can go with this image and would like to reference some of his iconic paintings within my project.
