Iteration II

Image
This is my continuation of my concept. I don't really know what the concept is still,  but I wanted it to have somewhat of a scrapbook-y vibe. I added some doodles in, trying to keep with the theme of space and I changed the color of the woman on the far right to match the planet on the far left. I also changed the farthest back planet, which I think helps the piece out compositionally.  I still need a meaning/justification behind this piece, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Final Images & Conclusion to the Narrative

Image
These are my final images for the Visual Sequential Narrative project. In the end, the astronaut/diver discovered the pirate ducks' haul of bread, but as they shared the plunder with him, he discovered the real treasure - friendship. Aw.  I added a matt around the outside of the images and I hope to print them out so they can be viewed as somewhat of a triptych. I enjoyed working on this piece and I am happy with the way they turned out. I finally feel like I have a handle on the Adobe Photoshop software, though I could still work on it some more.

Progress II

Image
This is my second progress picture. I have only really worked on the second image since my last post. I added in some light coming from the top of the pool and some shadows. I still have more to add and refine, and I think I need to work on some of the shadows to make sure they make sense with the light source.

Progress 1 - Narrative

Image
This is my first progress shots at the Narrative project. I have just been having fun with my concept which is very fantastical. The story is about a scuba diver on another planet that finds pirate ducks fighting over treasure in the bottom of the pool. I really hope I am understanding this project and doing it right, because I am actually really liking how this is coming out. It is still a little rough in some places, but it moves from the top image to the bottom. My main problem right now is that the first image is a lot more landscape oriented, while the bottom is the opposite, and I would like for them to be both the same orientation.

Cyclical Nature of Leaves Final Iteration

Image
This is my final iteration of this project. I redid the vase and changed the background to be a lot more fantasy-like. I played around with this one a lot more than I did previous iterations and projects, and I do enjoy the way it turned out, but I am worried that It doesn't get my point across as much as I hoped.

Progress II: A Background?

Image
This is my first attempt at a background. I like the juxtaposition of the man made bricks against the natural-ness of the bouquet. I added the spinning filter to draw focus to the vase/"flowers" and also to give the sense of the leaf cycle. I think the vase needs to be anchored on something and also the bouquet could still be filled out a little bit. I am also thinking about the concept of using the vase to represent "Earth" and might add some kind of grassy texture to it to signify that.
